On April 2th, 1998, Manabu Mabe's "Vento Vermelho" (Red Wind) Panel in the Santo Amaro Chapel was inaugurated with the following words by Victor Hugo Mori: "A space designed for contemplation and music which induces us to remember that this colorful musical panel was the last great masterpiece donated to mankind by the old genius, Manabu Mabe - a National Historical Legacy."

"Manabu Mabu, a master of color and wide spaces, was the designer of the OAS mural in Washington and also of the background curtain of the Kumamoto Theater, which measures 200 m2, besides several other artistic works." When he saw the Santo Amaro Fortress, he fell in love with it.

Measuring 20 m2 and made of 350 thousand colored ceramic tiles, the panel emphasizes the real historical dimensions of the ancient Fortress at the entrance of the Santos Port.
