Santo Amaro da Barra Grande Fortress covers a fortified area of more than 28 thousand m2. It offers an excellent view of the Santista Region. There are two great halls and two outdoor platforms, with the necessary infrastructure for holding events. Access by sea can be achieved in four minutes on the regular boat service that leaves every 30 minutes from the public dock in front of Saldanha da Gama Regatta Club in Ponta da Praia, Santos. The land access starts at Tombo Beach, in Guarujá, working its way along a six-kilometer asphalt road that was built over the old road used by pack animals long ago. It moves along the sinuous curves along the defile that separates the counter fort mangrove from the coastline mountain range covered by the Atlantic Forest that lies on the southern side of Santo Amaro Island.
